• Free medical camp:: Sri Satya Sai City Samiti in association with Gayatri and Visakha Eye Hospitals organized a free medical camp at Kimudu Puttu tribal village in Hukumpet mandal on Sunday. As many as 232 persons from nearby tribal villages were medically examined and various tests, including ECG, X-ray, general examination, gynecological, eye and dental were conducted.

• Summer camps:: Oakridge International School is organizing a programme ‘summer champs’ from May 3 to 17. Best out of waste, pottery, crafts, clay modelling, fun painting and kids Zumba form a part of the camp is scheduled to be held from 9am to 12.45pm. • Swachh Bharat initiative:: As part of Swachh Bharat initiative, Visakha Container Terminal Private Ltd., organized a ‘Sharamadanam’ programme in co-ordination with GVMC at Government Victoria Hospital premises. The event was inaugurated by GVMC Chief Meidcal Officer A.Hemanth and VCTPL vice president (operations) Anil Narayanan.

• Steel Plant leader felicitated:: Visakha Steel Employees’ Union general secretary and INTUC leader Padi Trinadha Rao was felicitated by the management and leaders of trade unions on the occasion of his retirement from service. At a meeting conducted by the VSEU, RINL CMD P.Madhusudhan recalled the contribution of Trinadha Rao for the well being of the employees of the VSP.
