The ACB officials who arrested the sub-registrar of Gajuwaka Doddapaneni Venkaiah Naidu on Monday in disproportionate assets case was remanded to 14 days in the Visakhapatnam Central Prison on Tuesday.It may be recalled that Gajuwaka Sub-Registrar Venkaiah Naidu in ACB net.

According to sources, the officials were surprised that he amassed Rs.60 crore market value of assets and seventy-five per cent of the assets were in the name of his divorced first wife.

Officials said that the accused was living with both the wires in the same house. Sources said that Venkaiah Naidu had divorced his first wife only to safeguard himself from such raids. As per the ACB sources, Venkaiah Naidu married K.Roopa alias D.Roopala in 1996 and divorced her in 2004 on the ground of not bearing a child. He married one Nandini, who is presumed to be the sister of Roopa in 2006 and was blessed with a daughter.

According to records, the ground plus five floor lodge named Kommineni Residency in Tirupati that costs around Rs.2 core was registered in the name of his father-in-law K.Guraviah, father of Roopa. In 2005, he started KR Real Estate and Builders and in 2016 Sri Sai Balaji Construction and both the firms were registered in the name of his divorced wife.

DSP of ACB (CIU) Ramadevi said that a locker in a private bank is yet to be opened. The locker in a PSU Bank that was opened yielded anything. She said that the net salary of the officer was Rs.34,000 while he had been paying Rs.38,000 per month as EMIs. She said that the tainted official was earlier in January 2011 was arrested by ACB and was under suspension for four years and joined duty in 2015 and most of the properties were purchased in and after 2015.
