MLC Chalapathi Rao’s son and daughter-in-law gets white ration cards

Issue of ration card separately for wife and husband was brought to the notice of ZP general body by senior leader and MLC Pappala Chalapathi Rao.

Chalapathi Rao specifically sought the presence of the District Supply Officer and narrated how his son and wife were given ration cards separately when they sought a ration card for the family as identity proof. Further, on the top of it, belonging to the high income group, they issued a white card, he said. Officials said that it would be rectified and new card issued.

MP K.Haribabu said when he tried to apply for the ‘Arogyaraksha’ health insurance scheme, he was shown as eligible but his wife was not. The reason, it was found later, was that a BPL health insurance was already taken using her Aadhaar number in Nellore district.
