Medical professionals take out a rally

On the eve of World Kidney Day, doctors, medical and paramedical staff, nursing students along with members of various NGOs took out an awareness rally on kidney related disease from RK Beach to Young Men Christian Association on Thursday. Speaking at a meeting organized by Nephrology department of KGH, the Superintendent of KGH, G Santa Rao said, keeping in view of the rising number of kidney patients in North Andhra region, four more dialysis units would be started at KGH soon.

People should take more precautions to control the diabetes, which is leading cause of chronic kidney disease besides air and ground water pollution advised the head of the Nephrology department G Prasad.

The awareness campaign on kidney disease and precautions to prevent at early stage should be conducted at village level, where awareness is lacking, he said. President of Andhra Pradesh Doctors Association Syam Prasad, members of KGH department Association also participate in the rally.
