VUDA Vice Chairman to concentrate on PCPIR

Says Visakhapatnam city and other areas under VUDA jurisdiction have development potential

The VUDA Vice Chairman, B Sridhar who assumed charge on Sunday said that the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority had vastly increased-now extending from Tuni town in East Godavari district to Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district-and accordingly master plans would have to be formulated for planned development and simultaneously expediting the execution of the major projects like Rs.99 crore prestigious Haritha-Singapore Class Township in Madhurawada and other housing schemes.

Speaking to media persons, he said Visakhapatnam City and other areas under its jurisdiction had tremendous potential for development as compared to other towns and areas. He said that his top priority would be to ensure planned development through approved layouts. In response to question, he said that he would first study all aspects and take decisions after an interface with all stakeholders. However, he had agreed to look into the demand for setting up separate branches of VUDA at place like Tuni and Srikakulam for speedy delivery of services.

His next priority is the petroleum, chemical and Petrochemical Investment Region that is Visakhapatnam-Kakinada corridor was another important aspect on which he would have to concentrate, he said. Secretary of VUDA, MS Bhagavan, Chief Urban Planner K Ananda Babu, senior officials greeted Sridhar.
