Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to get Prime Minister's Trophy for the second time

VSP planning to double its capacity to a level of 6.4 MT of liquid steel

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has won the coveted Prime Minister's trophy for the best Integrated Steel Plant for the second time. Inspired leadership and its ever committed workforce ensured that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant marched ahead on the path of excellence, heralding a culture of creativity and innovation.

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has established market leadership in the country and is consistently operating well above the rated capacities and set up a benchmark in the operational efficiency in the Indian Steel Industry. The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is on the growth path and is almost doubling its capacity to a level of 6.4 MT of liquid steel.

In recognition of its stellar performance, the Prime Minister's trophy for the best integrated steel plant for the year 2005-06 was bestowed on the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on February 14 by Prime Minister, Man Mohan Singh. VSP Chairman cum Managing Director PK Bishnoi and Director (Operations) Umesh Chandra received the trophy and a cheque of Rs.1 crore.
