The investigation into mysterious death of under trial Murali at the Visakhapatnam Central Prison is yet to make any headway as the police are yet to get the postmortem report. DCP KVV Gopala Rao who is heading the investigation of the case, said the body samples like pars of lungs and viscera were sent to the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad for tests and the results are awaited.

The postmortem was conducted at the KGH, by a team of doctors led by Senior faculty of the AMC, Naga Sankar Reddy. According to sources, the samples were sent to APFSL to find out if Murali had smoked ganja before his death. A section of local media reported that five other under trials who were supposedly close to Murali were under the influence of ganja along with the the deceased when the murder took place.

DCP Gopala Rao and the investigating officer and PM Palem Circle Inspector said that they had not yet ruled out the possibility of murder but, the post mortem report would certainly shed some light on the mysterious death. Meanwhile, the sources said the police are also planning to conduct lie detector test of the five other under trials who were reportedly involved in the death of Murali.
