Promises support for industries in Vizag to link with the US

Consul General of American Consulate Cornelis M Keur has visualized immense growth for Visakhapatnam given its proximity both to the United States and China. In an interaction with members of the Confederation of Indian Industry on Friday, he said that Andhra Pradesh in general and Visakhapatnam in particular have the potential to excel in industrial and agriculture sector. He emphasized the need to shift the focus from higher education to vocational education.
Keur further said China where surplus manpower from agriculture was being absorbed by industries thus emphasizing the need to develop industries. He also acknowledged the role played by Micro Small and Medium in providing employment opportunity. Keur called for greater interaction among the states of the USA and India through trade delegations.
He sounded positive in extending all possible support to the industries in Andhra Pradesh to link with their counterparts in USA for mutual benefit. Vice Chairman of the Vizag Zonal Council of CII Capt. Sriram Ravi Chander suggested the need for transfer of technology. He also assured all possible cooperation on behalf of CII relations between the two countries.
