Visakha Dairy hikes milk prices by Rs. 2 a litre

Visakha Dairy has hiked the price of milk by Rs.2 a litre and the hike will come into effect from March 5. The steep hike in diesel and petrol prices and the increase in various taxes were resulting in losses to the dairy farmers besides making it difficult for the management of the dairy.

The dairy development had also increased the milk procurement price to save the dairy farmers from losses, according to an official release of the company. The new rates are as follows: The homogenized doubled toned milk of 500ml. Rs.12., tones milk of 500mls Rs.13, Homogenized toned milk 1litre Rs.26, 500 ml Rs.13, and 200ml Rs 6, and full cream milk of 500ml Rs.16.
