Library award to Butchiraju

Korukonda Butchiraju, president of Sri Saarada Library Society, Anakapalle has been selected for the Janamaddi Sahiti Peetham’s sixth ‘Grandhayala Seva Puraskaram’. The award comprising a shawl, a memento and Rs.10,000 in cash will be presented to him at Kadapa marking the 93rd birth anniversary of noted linguist Janamaddi Hanumath Sastry on October 22.

Chief Minister to inaugurate Marriott hotel on Monday

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be formally inaugurating a new hotel, Fairfield Marriott on Monday. This is the first hotel from the Marriott group to come up in the city of Visakhapatnam and in the State. It is located at R&B Junction on the National Highway.

CME programme

Vizag IVF Centre conducted a seminar on ‘infertility and high risk pregancies’ on Sunday. More than 300 gynaecologists across the State attended the continuing medication education programme. Resources persons shared their experiences and advancements made in treating infertility problems. Centre director B.Sireesha Rani said that a national-level CME would be conducted next month. Experts from all over the country gave presentation.

Awareness talk

Assistant Commissioner of Police Kinjarapu Prabhakar addressed the members of Sea Shore Walkers’ Club on Sunday. The ACP spoke about creating awareness about a number of issues such as road accidents and cyber-crime. The Sea Shore Walkers’ Club was launched in 2010. It organizes a talk on every second Sunday.

Guest lecture

A guest lecture was delivered by Suresh Narayan, CMD of Nestle India Ltd., at IIM, Visakhapatnam today. He has an experience of over 30 years in the industry, inspired by the students with his own journey. Using Nestle as an example, he demonstrated how a business organization can make a difference in the society.

Green drive

In line with the ongoing ‘Swachhata se divyata tak’ by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, a tree planation drive was held at KGH on Sunday. Organization State chief S.G.Chalam took part in the programme along with others.

All schools will get basic facilities

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that Pratibha awards will be presented to over 6,000 meritorious students to mark the birth anniversary of APJ Abdul Kalam on October 15. At a programme held at ZP conference hall on Sunday, he felicitates best teachers and present awards to meritorious students. He said that the government was according priority to education despite deficit budget and decided to provide basic facilities to all schools with Rs.5,000 crore.

ABAS State chapter installed

Akhil Bharatiya Agarwal Sammelan AP Chapter president Chandmal Agarwal and his team were installed by ABAS national president Gopal Saran Garg at a function today. MP K.Haribabu who attended as a chief guest commended the Agarwal Samaj for taking the lead in organizing service activities. ABAS national president Gopal Saran Garg sought establishment of a University in the State in the name of Bhagwan Agrasen Maharaj.
