Rowdy sheeter murder- DSP main accused

The police cracked the sensational murder case of rowdy sheter Kopperla Satyanarayana Raju on Saturday. DSP Dasari Ravi Babu, who is currently posted as Vigilance Officer of APSRTC has been named as the prime accused in the murder case according to Joint Commissioner of Police D.Nagendra Kumar. The other main accused is Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Raju, editor and MD of a local Telugu daily. The police arrested nine persons who were reportedly hired by Ravi Babu and Srinivasa Raju to eliminate Gedela Raju. Meanwhile, DSP Ravi Babu and Bhupathiraju and his driver are absconding.

Auditions for Miss Vizag contest

The grand finale of Miss Vizag contest will be held on November 12. Being organized by Creative Plus Entertainment Network, Rays Entertainments and Dreams Events, the first audition for the event will be held on October 29. The applications are available at Sweet India outlet and Yallop bakery at Dasapalla Hills.

Awareness walk

An awareness walk organized on the occasion of World Hospital and Palliative Care Day at the Beach Road on Saturday. DSP (Crime) Shemushi Bajpai flagged off the rally organized by Sneha Sandhya Age Care Foundation and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.

Handwashing Day

An awareness programme was organized for students of GVMC High School at R.P.Peta to mark the ‘Global Handwashing Day’. School staff along with members of Grama Swarjya Samithi, an NGO educated the students on the need to maintain hygiene.

New born baby found in drain

The body of a newborn baby boy was found in a drain at Yerrigedda Colony in 60th ward at Gajuwaka area on Saturday. Locals noticed the body when some stray dogs were moving towards it. Police have registered a case are investigating.

Mangammaripeta beach to get facelift

The Mangamaripeta beachfront is set to get a facelift with features like beach shacks and restaurants. The water sports zone project at a cost of Rs.2 crore is being developed by AP Tourism to boost the tourism potential of the place. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao today laid the foundation stone for the project.
