Award for school NCC army wing

AgriGold victims dies of heart attack

A depositor in AgriGold company Jeeru Poliah (58) died of cardiac arrest while he was standing in a que to register his details at the verification process in the Bheemili police station limits today. The police said Polaiah had deposited Rs.50,000 in his daughter’s name in 2003. On Saturday, he stood in queue for physical verification and register his details to claim refund. He suddenly fell down and died of cardiac arrest. The police shifted the body to the KGH for post-mortem after registering a case. This is the second death of a depositor in the State after physical verification of the depositors commenced said sources.

Minor girl sexually exploited

A 17-year-old minor girl was allegedly sexually exploited by her maternal uncle at Potidorapalem area I the limits of Butchayyapeta police station and the incident came to light only when the girl has become pregnant. The locals informed it to the Integrated Child Development Services officials who shifted her to a shelter home at Bheemili. The ICDS will write also write to the Station House Officer of the police station concerned for booking a case under POCSO Act against the accused and relevant cases against the girl’s mother, said District Child Protection Officer A.Satyanarayana.

National Law Day observed

GITAM School of Law observed National Law Day today on Saturday. Sports and games competitions for physically challenged were held as part of the District Sports for Differently Abled at the Police Parade grounds on Saturday. Joint Collecor -2 A.Sri inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, she said that physically challenged persons are second to none. She said sports and games would help in bringing out the talent among them.

Seminar on Gate on Sunday

TIME will hold a seminar on how to crack GATE in the first attempt in association with the Hindu here on November 26.
