61,000 ganja plants destroyed

The Excise officials have destroyed around 61,000 ganja plants spread in over 12 acres in Visakhapatnam Agency. According to Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise (Enforcement Wing) SVVN.Babji, teams formed by the excise in coordination with the local police, revenue, the ITDA and a few others have raided the farms in Paderu and Hukumpeta mandals.

Minor fire in VPT

A fire broke out in the conveyer belt area of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust while a BOT operator was carrying out maintenance work today. The fire broke out when the sparks from a welding machine came in contact plastic sheets. Two fire brigades from the VPT extinguished the fire in few minutes.

Steel Minister inaugurates badminton coaching camp

Prof.Murty for Japan

Prof.DVR Murty of AU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and director of Japan Information and Study Centre will lead a delegation of five research scholars to study Toyama University and other research institutes in Toyama Prefecture in Japan from November 5 to 11. He will deliver a lecture in Toyama University on the academic activities in Andhra Pradesh and Japan Information and Study Centre. The other members of the delegation are G.Santosh Kumar, M.Vinod Kumar, C.Vijay, N.Ashok Kumar and GVM Dheerendra.
