  • VR Chits victims stage protest:: The victims of VR Chits has staged a protest on Tuesday before the CID office near VUDA complex demanding action against the CID DSP who colluded with the chits management. CPI State secretary Ch.Narasinga Rao led the protest. They raised slogans against the CID DSP stating that the victims were put to grave injustice. VR Chits victims welfare association president B.Ganga Rao, vice president Botta Eswaramma, secretary B.Chella Rao along with other victims participated.
  • Dial your University on May 5:: Andhra University that conducts Dial your University on every month will be held on May 5 according to Deputy Registrar J.Adilakshmi. The programme will be held on Friday from 10.30am to 11.30am. Those who wish to participate may call over phone number 0891-2844455 and problems/issues directly to the officers concerned. The top officials of the University will respond their queries.
  • SDE contact classes for journalism students:: Andhra University School of Distance Education has announced that the classes for students of Master of Journalism and Mass Communication under the personal contact programme will be held till May 10 at the Social Scienes building at the university. MA (Telugu) students contact classes are being held from Tuesday at the department of Telugu, Arts College. The classes will conclude on May 11.   • Rs.One lakh donated for library:: Chairman of the Kanaka Mahalakshmi Bank Parachuri Raghunatha Rao donated Rs.1 lakh to Visakhapatnam Public Library on Tuesday. A cheque was presented to president of Visakhapatnam Public Library Society S.Vijay Kumar.
  • GVMC union poll:: Secret ballot to decide on the majority workers’ union in GVMC will be held on May 9 from 9am to 4pm and identity cards is compulsory to vote according to GVMC Commissioner M.Harinarayan. Six polling booths at GVMC main office and one each at the zone offices at Anakapalle, Gajuwaka and Madhurawada will be set up for voting.
