Compactors inaugurated

HPCL director (refineries) Vinod S.Shenoy today inaugurated two compactors costing Rs.70 lakh at GVMC. HPCL has signed an MoU with GVMC to support Swachh Bharat activities and improve storm water drains at a cost of Rs.5 crore. He said that Rs.4 croe was spent on construction of toilets, compactor bins, compactors and de-silting of storm water drains. Other works would be taken up with the remaining Rs.1 core, he said.

Stress on legal awareness

District Legal Services Authority secretary and senior civil judge S.Damodara Rao today underlined the need to create legal awareness among all sections of society. He was addressing students of Gayatri Vidya Parishad at MVP Colony. He said there were hundreds of laws but many were not aware of even frequently used laws. Proper sensitization would prevent people from getting cheated.

Free yoga camps

Supreme Court Judge Justice Chalameswar coming

Justice Jasti Chalameswar, Judge, Supreme Court of India is coming on a two-day visit to the city on Saturday. He will be accompanied by his wife according to an official release. He will arrive here from Vijayawada by Air India flight at 8.50pm and proceed to the Government Circuit House for night halt. He will attend a programme of SANA at A.Koduru village of Kotapadu mandal on Sunday and will for New Delhi on Sunday by air at 6.30pm.
