Treasure hunt- over 2,000 took part

The treasure hunt organized by Vasavi Club Greater Visakha Couples saw about 2,000 participants decoding the clues hidden from NTR statue to YSR statue dotting Beach Road on Sunday. The event contained for one hour and 15 minutes aimed at gaining entry into the Guinness Book of World Records for its highest participating. E.Harish, Sai Gurucharan, U.Vinay and L.P.C.Kishan were the top four winners of the treasure hunt. They were presented with excellent prize such as a two-wheeler, a gold chain, a microwave oven and a home theatre system. Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao was the chief guest. MP K.Haribabu attended the programme.

AUSDE PG examinations from July 5

AU School of Distance Education will hold year-end examinations of PG courses form July 5 to 12.

Books distributed

The local branch of Sri Sathya Seva Samithi distributed about 15,000 books and stationery kits to tribal students. Visiting various areas, including Korruputta, the team of the Samithi gave away the books to the needy. Philanthropist Babji and city seva Samithi coordinators took part in the camp.

Blood donated

As part of the birthday celebrations of actor and founder of Life Again Foundation Gautami Tadimalla, a blood donation camp was conducted by the local chapter of the foundation on Sunday. It was supported by A.S.Raja Voluntary Blood Bank and coordinated by social worker Gurmeet Kohli.

City girl bags award

Valentina Mishra a class V student of Delhi Public School, Visakhapatnam North, Muduni Sharanya, have been awarded the ‘Best Director of the year’ for the pageant and the ‘Little Miss Inter-Continental Grand Sea 2017’ respectively. Ms.Shasranya also won the subtitles Miss Popularity and Miss Best Interview Model at the international beauty pageant ‘Miss and Mr Grand Sea’ held in Sofia, Bulgaria, held last month. Earlier, Ms.Mishra also bagged Mrs.India Asia International World-2015.

Saplings planted

AU Vice Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao has said that tree plantation will help protect environment. Participating in the ‘Vanam-Manam’ programme held in Andhra University on Sunday, he said that saplings would be planted all along the university campus, especially in the vacant areas. He planted saplings on the campus to mark the occasion.

Medical camp

As part of the community policing in Visakhapatnam Agency area, the Koyyuru police under the supervision of Rahul Dev Sharma, SP, Vizag Rural, Siddharth Kaushal, OSD Visakhapatnam Rural, and Aishwarya Rasthogi, ASP, Narsipatnam conducted a medical camp for tribal people on Sunday.
