Book on Indo-China war released

‘Himalayan’, a novel in Tamil authored by Dhivakar was released at a function at Tamil Kalai Mandram on Saturday. The book, based on the 1962 Indo-China war, was released by a retired professor of Tamil of EVR College, Trichy, Tirumaran. The first copy was received by Kumaresan of Coromandel.

NTPC regional sports meet begins

Southern Regional Sports Meet of NTPC began at NTPC Simhadri on Saturday. All the projects/stations and offices of southern regions of NTPC are participating in the three-day meet which was inaugurated at NTPC Sports Complex by Group General Manager N.K.Sinha. Cricket, tennis and tennikoit for women will be conducted.

Gold locket presented

A ‘Hrydya Lakshmi’ gold locket with chain, crafted by Vaibhav Jewelers on special order of a devotee Doddi Kiran was presented to Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam today. The locket weighing 721 grams was made at a cost of Rs.28 lakh. CMD of Vaibhav Jewellers Mallika Manoj Grandhi and Doddi Kiran presented the unique gold locket to Simhachalam Devasthanam.

Certificate programme on GST

Andhra University is offering a month long certificate course on Goods and Services Tax to the accounting executives and those who aspire to become tax consultants. The evening classes will be held from 6pm to 7.30pm throughout the month.

Kite festival
