Industries panel clears 13 applications

Thirteen of the 14 applications received for setting up new industrial units in the SME sector and pending as on December 31, 2017 were cleared at the District Industries Promotion Committee meeting here on Wednesday. Each unit will have an investment of around Rs.1 crore. District Collector Pravin Kumar presided over the meeting. DIC general manager Ramalingeswar Raju said they were clearing the applications on top priority.

King appointed KRU Registrar

P.King, a professor in the department of Chemical Engineering of Andhra University College of Engineering has been appointed as Registrar of Krishna University, Machilipatnam for a period of one year. This decision was taken at the Executive Council meeting of Krishna University held on January 23 according to a statement issued.

Additional charge given

P.N.Vijay Kumar has been given additional charge as the Public Relations Officer of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway from January 31. A graduate in Science from Andhra University, Vijay Kumar joined the railway service in 1985 in South Eastern Railway in Waltair Division and served in various capacities.

College cultural festival

Prism Degree and PG College is conducting ‘Prism Varnahela’ an annual cultural festival from February 1 to 3. The poster of the event was inaugurated by the College Correspondent D.Satyanarayana Reddy and Joint Secretary Vijaya Reddy. Joint Collector G.Srijana will be the chief guest and MLC PVN Madhav will be the guest of honour for the inaugural function. As part of the festival, 12 events in the academic and cultural sections will be held.

GVP to host students’ meet

A two day technical fest ‘CSI State level student convention -2K18 for engineering students of CSE/IT/ECE/MCA/BBA branches is being organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Gayathri Vidya Parishad College for Degree and PG courses from February 1. The objective of the event is to provide a platform for interaction amongst students of engineering disciplines to bring out their latent talents.
