Raksha Bandhan on ITBPF campus

The 56th Battalion ITBPF, Visakhapatnam celebrated Raksha Bandhan at the ITBPF campus on Saturday. Students of Government High School, Anandapuram visited the ITBPF camp and tied Rakhi on Commandant Chandra Mohan Mishra and others.

Trolleys, wheelchairs donated

Two stretcher trolleys and three wheelchairs were donated by the MVP Colony Temple Committee and Sri Bontha Ramakrishna Rao and Smt.Annapurna Memorial Trust to the Causality Block of the KGH on Saturday.

Banned drugs seized

Banned drugs worth Rs.7 lakh were seized and four persons including a medical shop owner were taken into custody by the IV Town Police at Dondaparthy on Saturday. On a tip-off, Drug Control officials caught some youngsters at Railway New Colony for being in possession of banned drugs like Corex syrup. They raided a medical shop after interrogating the youths. A case has been registered by the police and investigation was on.

Note books distributed

Notebooks were distributed free of cost to 700 children of government schools at KNMG High School at Railway New Colony on Saturday. The Akshaya Patra Foundation in association with Vedic Science Club and NSS student of GITAM University took up the programme. GVMC Commissioner M.Harinarayan, Director-in-charge of the School of Gandhian Studies, GITAM University, Nalini, president of the Akshaya Patra Foundation Niskinchana Bhakta Dasa and DEO of GVMC Usha Rani participated in the programme.

TDP takes rally against Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments

TDP workers led by urban president and MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar staged a novel protest against the controversial remarks of Jagan Mohan Reddy on Chief Minister at a public meeting in Nandyal. Police foiled an attempt to take a funeral procession with a big banner from GVMC alleging that human kindness in Jagan Mohan Reddy died. The MLA said that Jagan’s comment showed his highhandedness and admission of defeat in the by-election.
