Magisterial inquiry in the death of convicts

The magisterial inquiry into the death of convicts Ghanta Raghavulu (78), Gudla Appa Rao (50) and Swabhi Narayana (40) will be conducted at the RDO’s office in the Collectorate on August 17 at 11a.m.

Krishnastami celebrated

Dressed in colorful attires, students of Visakha Valley School celebrated Krishnastami on the school premises on Friday. The tiny tots of LKG and UKG enthralled the audience with their mellifluous rendition of Chinni7 Krishna Cheti Venna Mudda’. The highlight of the celebration was the pot breaking ceremony by the little ones who came dressed as Radha and Krishna.

VUDA music festival from Saturday

The Visakha Music and Dance Academy is organizing a seven-day festival of music, dance and drama at Kalabharati from Saturday. Co-chairman of Kasturi and Sons Ltd., and president of Madras Music Academy N.Murali will be the chief gust at the inaugural function. Disciples of Padma Vibhushan Dr.Yamini Krishnamurthy will present a dance performance on the inaugural day.

Pearls’ sari for Goddess

Goddess Kanyaka Parameswari was decked up with a sari of pearls on the third Friday of the auspicious Sravanamasam after Abhishekam at 5am. In the morning 250 women participated in Srichakra puja performed by head priest RRB Kumar Sarma. A large number of devotees worshipped the Goddess.

Safety training

A four-day training programme on Process, Safety Management for junior and senior level executives of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant concluded on Friday. It was conducted in association with National Safety Council, Mumbai at the Management Development Centre, Ukkunagaram.
