  • GSIB offers PG diploma:: GITAM School of International Business in collaboration with IBM is offering a postgraduate diploma in business analytics. According to GSIB director V.K.Kumar, the academic council has approved upgrading of the programme to modular MBA programme. GSIB will hold an entrance test.   • Rally marks World Malaria Day:: An awareness rally was taken out by the Medical and Health Department on the occasion of World Malaria Day on the Beach Road on Tuesday. Joint Collector-2 D.V.Reddy flagged off the rally in presence of DMHO J.Sarojini and other officials. The participants carried banners and placards highlighting the theme ‘ End malaria for good’ with the vision for malaria free world. The motto is to end malaria in the country in a phased manner by 2030.
  • Material Management Day at IIM:: Indian Institute of Material Management celebrated Material Management Day. Material professionals from various organization attended. A presentation on the theme ’SCM Role in GST implementation and India digitalization’ was made by S.Ramakrishna, Chairman.

  • Drink driving cases – 28 persons jailed:: The III Metropolitan Magistrate Ramya Chawla on Tuesday sentenced 28 motorists to undergo prison sentences ranging from 2 days to 7 days in addition to paying fine for driving under the influence of alcohol. ADCP (Traffic) Mahendra Patrudu advised motorists against driving under the influence of liquor.
  • Legal aid clinic opened at KGH:: A legal aid clinic was opened by S.Damodhara Rao, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority-cum-Senior Civil Judge, Visakhapatnam at KGH on Tuesday. Chairman of District Legal Service Authority cum District Judge Jyotirmayi sanctioned the Legal Aid Clinic to the KGH as per the directions of the Supreme Court and requested the KGH Superintendent to provide accommodation for the same. The legal aid is totally free of cost. The clinic services will be available on Saturdays and Sundays between 10.30am and 1pm.
  • 64,000 aspirants take EAMCET:: Over 64,000 engineering aspirants took the EAMCET-2017 under the CBT format on the second day of the three day window period across 141 centres in the State on Tuesday. It may be recalled that 61,091 students took the test on Monday. EAMCET convener Ch.Sai Babu said that an attendance of 95 per cent was registered in the morning session and 94.94 per cent in the evening session, he said.
