The 154th birth anniversary of Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy was celebrated as Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam here today.

Students from various schools paid rich tributes to Telugu Talli statue at Maddilapalem junction as part of the programme organized by Paravastu Padya Peetham. Founder president of the Peetham, Phani Sayana Suri underlined the need to protect Telugu culture and favored Telugu medium of instruction. The programme concluded with a pledge administered to the participants.

District Collector Pravin Kumar paid floral tributes to Telugu Talli statue located at RK Beach at a programme organized by Sri Sarada Kalaniketan.

With the target to reach out to one lakh readers in 500 days across the district and make Pedda Balasiksha find place in every household Bharatiya Telugu Samiti launched a campaign to mark the Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam.
