The Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam Gayathri Devi today convicted Manager of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Doddi Satya Venkata Rameswara Rao and his wife Adi Lakshmi in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced the to undergo five years and one year imprisonment respectively and imposed a fine of Rs.51,000.

According to sources, Rameswara Rao had acquired movable and immovable assets worth Rs.1.02 crore from August 1991 and May 2008. Adi Lakshmi abetted her husband in acquiring disproportionate assets. In the Attachment Petition filed by the CBI, the Special Judge offered the confiscation of property to the tune of about Rs.94 lakhs.
