Poultry unit inaugurated at Gondipadu in Agency area

Paderu ITDA Project Officer Ravi Pattanshetti today inaugurated ‘mother poultry unit’ costing Rs.2.7 lakh under ‘Velugu’ at Gondipadu in G.Madugula mandal.

Matsyadevata self-help group will run the unit. The women get additional income from sale of eggs and can use the eggs as nutritious food. The Project Officer said the village was also provided vegetable seeds under ‘Nutri garden’ scheme and training in growing them. The filter bed installed with Rs.2.7 lakh under ‘Velugu’ provided them protected water, he said.

Under tribal sub-plan six women have been given an assistance of Rs.2.2 lakh for income generation. Thirty-four families were provided toilets under MGNREGS.
