Congress Rajya Sabha member K.V.P.Ramachandra Rao has urged the Centre to reconsider its decision to privatize the Dredging Corporation of India.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, he said selling of entire government stake in the DCI was not a strategically beneficial or secured move. YSRCP MP V.Vijaysai Reddy has also made an appeal to the government to roll back its plan to dis-invest its entire stake in Visakhapatnam based DCI in the Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha today.
Ramachandra Rao said that the government could form an expert committee for a comprehensive Saturday of future of the dredging sector in the country and bring the issue before the Parliament for detailed discussions.
