The AP Private Schools Association has appealed to the Commissioner and Director of School Education for extension of time to give suggestions on the AP Self-Financed Independent Schools’ Act 2017.

A letter addressed to the officials on Monday, APPSA State chairman KSN Murty noted that the time given was too short to get through understanding of the Act. The Expert Committee should comprise at least one representative each from the parents’ side and the Private School Management’s side from each district. A proper survey should be conducted by the authorities concerned and permission should be given for opening of new schools based on the need.

He said that permission should be given to the existing schools which apply for renewal of recognition for ten years and existing schools, which apply for upgradation should be given permission for five years. He asked the authorities to give permission to run additional sections on the same premises. The files pending with the Secretariat, DEO or the Minister’s office should be cleared for the present academic year.
