The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board has conducted rinspections and sealed six X-Ray units and issued warning to five other units on Tuesday.
In all, 14 X-Ray centres and hospitals including the X-ray unit at KGH were told to ensure compliance with the AERB rules. Unauthorised use of Medical Diagnostic X-ray equipment without licence of AERB is an offence under the Atomic Energy (Radiation Protection) Rules, 2004.
Of the 14 units inspected, six X-ray equipment including on 1 CT scan, 1 CBCT-dental, 1 mammography unit and 3 Fixed X-ray units were sealed and warning of seal was issued to five units.
