Classical dancer Yamini Krishnamurthy will be conferred the title ‘Natya Vidya Bharathi’ award by the Visakha Music and Dance Academy at Kalabharati Auditorium on the first day of its annual weeklong music, dance and drama festival.
Speaking to press, founder president of the VMDA C.S.N.Raju said that apart from a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, she will also receive a golden lotus worth Rs.2.5 lakh, clothes and a citation. Trustee honorary secretary of the academy G.R.K.Prasad said opportunity would be given to local artistes to showcase their talents.
