RWAs’ national meet

Vice-President of AP Federation of Resident Welfare Association K.S.R.Murty has been made one of the co-conveners of the Organizing Committee for the firth national conference of RWAs. The national conference will be held in Mumbai on November 18 and 19.

Swachh drive

National Small Industries, Visakhapatnam branch in association with Pedagantyada Industrialists Welfare Associations organized Swachh Bharat programme at Pedagantyada Industrial area on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by Premchand, Chairman IALA-Gajuwaka.

Naval Dock Yard wins Rajbhasha trophy

Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam won the Poorvi Nausena Kaman Rajbhasha Rolling Trophy for 2016-17 for exhibiting excellence in the field of implementation of the official language for the third consecutive year. The runner-p trophy for the year was awarded o INS Circars.

Plea to declare Visakhapatnam district ODF by March

An action plan has been prepared to declare the district open defecation free by March 2018 said District Collector Pravin Kumar. A total of 2.4 lakh toilets were yet to be constructed and this had to be planned for completion by February 2017 so that any toilet left over could be constructed by the end of March, he said.

CTF conduct raids on gutkha unit

The City Task Force raided an unauthorized Gutkha manufacturing unit at Allupeta of Bheemili mandal. The CTF team led by ACP I.Chittibabu arrested one person by name Sonu Tiwari of Berhampur and seized Gutkha mixing and packing machinery worth Rs.10 lakh and seized huge quantity of prohibited Gutkha and raw material which has a market value of about Rs.8 lakh.

City doctor gets honour

P. Radharani, consultant dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon has been invited by the American Board as an examiner for its annual examination conducted globally. She will attend an international conference on hair transplant at Prague, Czech Republic, later this week. Dr.Radharani is the first Indian doctor to complete two PG courses in hair transplant from the US in 2009 and 2011.
