Admitted Fellow of AP Akademi of Sciences

Director of Gayatri Vidya Parishad Scientific and Industrial Research Centre V.S.N.Rao Tatavarti has been admitted as Fellow of the AP Akademi of Sciences on November 7 at an exclusive session of the AP Science Congress -2017. He has also been asked to deliver a lecture during the Congress on November 8 and 9.

Poster released

A poster on celebrating Diwali without making any adverse impact on the environment was released by District Colelctor Pravin Kumar today. Prabodha Educational Services which is sorganizing a three km run for creating an awareness on environment friendly Diwali said the Collector consented to attend the run on October 15.

Free screening camp

A free screening camp would be conducted as part of the celebrations of World Arthritis Day at Dr.Adim’s Centre for Rheumatology and Pain Management located on the Railway New Colony Main Road on Saturday according to Dr.Suresh Adimulam, consultant rheumatologist.

ANITS girl students win chess title

Girl students of Anil Neerukonda Institute of Science and Technology won the first prize in the AU Inter-Collegiate Chess Championship held at Samata Degree College. The students are KVSS Sai Sirisha, N.Gargeyi, M.Lalitha, V.Sree Preethi, T.Spandana and J.Nagasri.

Close unauthorized slaughter houses

District Collector Pravin Kumar today asked the officials to close all unauthorized slaughter houses. At the Animal Welfare Society meeting here, he said officials should identify the unauthorized slaughter houses so as to close them. The officers concerned are directed to submit a report on the maintenance of the gosala at Simhachalam in a week and the procedure for adoption of calves.

Students take out rally on environment

The students of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar took out a rally from YMCA to RK Beach today to spread awareness on environmental protection. It was held as part of ‘Swachhta Se Divyata Tak’, a nationwide programme from October 2 to 20 in response to a call by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization. DCP (Law and Order) K.Fakeerappa flagged off the rally.
