Agarwal appointed as Visakha Zone GST in-charge Chief Commissioner

Hyderabad Zone GST Customs Chief Commissioner senior IRS officer BB Agarwal on Thursday assumed charge. He will also act the AP in-charge Chief Commissioner at Visakhapatnam Zone. He belongs to 1985 IRS batch and worked in various capacities. He played a key role in giving training to over 60,000 officers in GST.

Government orders attachment of Bommarillu assets

The Principal Secretary AR Anuradha has on Thursday issued orders attaching the assets worth over Rs.95 crore of Bommarillu Farms And Villas India Limited. It may be recalled that the firm that started its business in 2011 has collected 95 crore from 91,000 depositors with the assurance of registering house sites but later turned off the boards. Many cases have been registered in various police stations across the State and the government ordered a CID probe. The CID submitted a report to the government that resulted in the attachment of the assets of the Bommarillu firm and Chairman, Managing Director, Directors. The Hyderabad-registered Bommarillu Farms and Villas, which was floated in August 2011, has 10 branches across the state, including the Port City.

KL Rao endowment lecture tomorrow

GITAM university will be organizing the first Dr.K.L.Rao Endowment Lecture on Saturday as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the eminent engineer who was awarded Padma Bhushan for his significant contribution in the areas of irrigation and power. He served as Union Minsiter of Irrigation and Power is considered to be the father of India’s water management system and agriculture. The lecture will be delivered by Dr.Ashwin Kumar Balavantray Pandya, former Chairman, Central Water Commission, Government of India. It will be held at the Mother Teresa Auditorium from 11am.

ICAI conference

The South India regional council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India will be organizing a two-day sub-regional conference of chartered accountants at VUDA Children Arena on Friday. Union Minister of Civil Aviation P.Ashok Gajapathi Raju will inaugurate the conference.
