‘Government committed to Kapus’ welfare’, says Ganta Srinivasa Rao

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said today that the State government is committed to the welfare of Kapu community.

He said that the Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham is trying to create law and order problem and added that the government would not tolerate violence in the guise of padayatra. He said that in view of the past experience in which violence took place, the government has decided not to allow the padayatra. He appealed the people not to be carried away by Mudragada propaganda of ‘welfare of community’. The Chief Minister already fulfilled two of the three promises given to the community by giving Deputy Chief Minister post to a person from Kapu community and the setting up of Kapu Welfare Corporation. Efforts are on to fulfil the third promise of including Kapus in the list of BCs, he said.
