The Visalaandhra book festival will start tomorrow and will continue till November 27. The festival will be inaugurated by GVMC Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu tomorrow.
Prisoners of Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Rajahmundry and Chanchalguda jails will soon manage petrol bunks. The bunk will be close to the Central jail in Visakhapatnam. DGP (prisons) CN Gopinath Reddy said that the authorities have already written to the GVMC to allot site for opening the bunk.

The layouts of VUDA plots and other private layouts approved by VUDA will soon be available on its website. VUDA Vice-Chairman Kona Sasidhar has instructed the officials to compile information on layouts for placing them on the website.
VUDA Vice-Chairman Kona Sasidhar has condoled the demise of writer Avasarala Ramakrishna Rao. He said that the death of Avasarala is a loss to the literary world and recalled his active participation in the poetry recital on Ugadi and at other culture programmes of VUDA.

The Visakhapatnam Port Trust was awarded Greentech Environmental Excellence Award 2011 in Gold category. This is the fourth time VPT was qualified for the gold award in Environment category.
The Visakhapatnam Urban Transport Company Limited (VUTCL) is being formed to operate buses on the new BRTS roads. The idea is to reduce pollution and to encourage people to utilize public transportation. The district collector would be the chairman of VUTCL and GVMC Commissioner would serve as its CEO.
GO No. 488 is issued by Municipal Administration and Urban Development department sanctioning notional increments to municipal teachers.
