Film actor Varun Sandesh and actress Vega visits hospital

The Lions Cancer Hospital organized a free cancer detection camp as part of World Cancer Day celebrations. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner, VN Vishnu inaugurated the camp. Lions Cancer Hospital's managing trustee V Umamaheswara Rao, Chairman of its trust board NVN Durgaprasada Rao, CMD DGK Raju, Corporator ASN Raju and others participated.
A team of doctors of the hospital examined the patients at the camp. Dr VS Krishna Degree college also conducted a cancer awareness programme. A senior professor of Andhra Medical College SV Kumar explained about the different types of cancer and precautions to be taken to prevent it. Principal JVVSN Murty presided. Head of the Department of Biotechnology S Hara Sriramulu and GBS Suhasini of Botany department spoke on the occasion.
Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre also organized the awareness programme. Film star Varun Sandesh and budding heroine Vega visited the hospital and interacted with the patients and wished them speedy recovery. They distributed fruits to the patients. The hospital also organized distribution of 10,000 handbills in the prime residential localities to crate awareness about the disease and tips to prevent it.
Earlier, the Centre for Cancer Screening and Prevention (CCSP) took out an awareness rally on the beach road on Thursday.
