Demands for wage revision

The Life Insurance Corporation Class One Officer’s Association will go on strike to press their demands for wage revision in accordance with their performance. The association members said that had chalked out a series of peaceful agitation programs in support of their demand during March.
They are planning to stage one-hour walkout strike on Monday besides two hour walk out on March 23 followed by a protest dharna on March 15. They are also planning a protest after office hours on March 13 and 20, 2010.
According to association president B Bhujanga Rao, besides wage revision based on performance of LIC, their other demands include immediate settlement of charter, industry bench marks on party with 6th Pay Commission recommendations for the Public Sector Units in the country. It may be recalled that the salary level of LIC officers standing at not more than 55 percent of the sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations.
