Other kidnapped leader escapes from the clutches of naxalites

Koyyuru Mandal Congress president Kone Somaih who was kidnapped by Maoists in the wee hours on Sunday morning from his house in Solabu village was released on Monday. Telugu Desam leader K Balaiah who was also kidnapped by Maoists during the same day in Makavaram village, reportedly escaped from the clutches of naxalites under the cover of darkness. He was branded as a police informer by Maoists.
Superintendent of Police Vineet Brij Lal said that Somaih reached Koyyuru after being released by the Maoists. Saraiah informed that Balaiah had escaped from the Maoists during the night but we are verifying his statement said the SP. While speaking to media at Koyyuru after he was released said that the Maoists wanted the Congress leaders of the area to react on the Balliguda incident in which four women of the village were allegedly raped by Greyhound police and to oppose bauxite mining the Visakha Agency area.
Somaih said that he was treated well by the Maoists and was released at Pidata Mamidi village under Boodaralla panchayat nearly 18 kms from Koyyuru. They asked the Congress leaders to resign from the party posts.
