Jagadamba theatre owners remanded

Accused produced before First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate

Jagadamba theatre owner VB Chalam alias Rambabu and his son Jagadeesh Kumar were sent to judicial remand till March 8 in the fresh cases that came up for hearing on Tuesday. The accused were produced before the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate M Bharat Lakshmi on Prisoner’s Transit warrant on Tuesday. The accused were arrested on a complaint filed by V Venkata Rani in the past. They were now produced in the court in connection with the complaints of dowry harassment and sexual harassment filed by Sandhya Rani and Krishna Veni.

Yet, another woman claims that she was one of the victims of Rambabu of Jagadamba Theatre in Visakhapatnam. M Padmavathi of Balijaveedhi told to media persons on Tuesday that Rambabu married her on August 16, 1992 at Sri Chowdeswari Ramalingeswara Swamy Kalyanamandapam in Putchalaveedhi in Vizianagaram.

She released a photocopy of her wedding card to the media. She was the second wife. As far as she knows, he had married two more women later. The first woman was Ramadevi while the third was a kashtriya and the fourth one was Lakshmi Tulasi.
