Bio-metric attendance in Andhra University colleges:: AU Vice-Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao has said Aadhaar linked bio-metric att3ndance system should be implemented in all affiliated colleges of Andhra University. Addressing the correspondents and principals of affiliated colleges at a meeting held at T.L.N.Sabha Hall on Tuesday, he said that the bio-metric system was made mandatory for fee reimbursement.

Man ended life for rail zone:: P.Siva Durga Prasad (33), a B.Tech graduate and resident of Pedagantyaa who committed suicide by jumping in front of a train on April 7 near Marripalem reportedly did so due to delay in granting railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters said YSRCP district president Gudivada Amarnath said on Tuesday. He said that the deceased was his classmate and aspired for a government job. The victim was married to a woman from Madugula. As he failed to acquire a government job, his wife had deserted him. On April 7, the divorce case was to be decided in the court. Three suicide notes he had purportedly written were in the possess of GRP, he said. In one of the letters, he blamed his misfortune and his constrained relationship with his wife as one of the reasons, in the second, he urged the Chief Minister to put pressure on the Central government to the railway zone sanctioned as many youth would get a government job and not end their lives like him, said Amarnath. Meanwhile, DSP of GRP G.B.R.Madhusudan said that the police had not recovered any letter referring to the railway zone that it was Amarnath who told them about it.

Old Heritage Town Walk' held:: 'The heritage handed over to us by our ancestors should be protected carefully', said MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar. He flagged off the 'Old Town Heritage Walk', organized by the AP Tourism department in connection with World Heritage Day on Tuesday. The walk, that began at Town Hall and concluded at Old Light House. Joint Collecto-2 D.Venkata Reddy was among others who took part.
