Three rape victims undergo tests

Three of the four women belonging to the Kondhu tribe and residents of Balluguda in Munchingput mandal have undergone medical tests at KGH on Friday. The other women refused to undergo tests and left for her village. All the four were allegedly raped by Greyhound constables at their village on January 22.
Medical examination of the four women, who were brought on Thursday was postponed to Friday as the doctors waited for a translator. On Friday morning, the four women refused to undergo medical examination saying that they had not raped. As the doctors discharged them, representatives of the right's movements, women's organizations and political parties protested, claiming that the police had forced the victims to tell the doctors that they did not tell the doctors that they did not need medical tests.
After protests, the four women went back to the gynecology ward around 12.30pm and the tests were carried out from 4.30pm chief of Gynaecology PP Srinivasa Murty said. One of the women continued to insist that she was not raped and left for her village. The doctor said the specimens had been sent to the Regional Forensic Laboratory here and if necessary would be sent to Hyderabad laboratory and it would take at least 15 days to get the results.
