HRD Minister, Purandareswari reviews welfare schemes

The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development and Member of Parliament (MP) from Visakhapatnam to the Lok Sabha, Dr. D Purandareswari has directed the officials to take up more works under the NREGS so as to create more man days. Speaking at a meeting of Vigilance and Monitoring Committee of DRDA, of which she is the Chairperson on Friday said, people's representatives should cooperate in the implementation of the scheme cutting across the party lines.
She directed that special camps should be conducted to issue the required certificates to the differently abled so as to grant them pensions and availability of other welfare pensions should be kept ready whenever government issued orders. She reviewed the NREGS, Water Shed Development, Indira Awas Yojana, modernization of land records, rural water supply, sanitation, old age pensions and other family benefit schemes at the meeting.
Anakapalli MP Sabbam Hari wanted the NREGS funds to be allocated equally among all ZPTCs to take up more works in every habitation and create more man days. The District Collector, J Shyamala Rao announced that 'Revenue Sadassu' would be held every Friday to resolve land related problems.
