New services testing phase currently going

BSNL cell phone users will be delighted to know that they will get the 3G services, which has already been launched in Hyderabad by the end of this month in Visakhapatnam. Richer multimedia experience, faster downloads and uploads, live TV without buffering breaks, online gaming, video calls and conferencing, video music downloads and a host of other facilities all at 3G speed according to BSNL officials promises to its customers. P Nagaraju, General Manager of BSNL, Visakhapatnam said that the new equipment for the new services and more than 80 percent of the work completed. He said testing is going on.
Initially, 5.000 USIMs (Unified Mobile Telecom Service SIMs) will be supplied on the first come first served basis. The 3G service USIM has a memory of 128 kb as against the present 32kb in case of 2G service. The 3G prepaid SIM will cost Rs.59. the promotional plan at Rs.120 within 180 days tariff validity will be available for 30 days after activation of the service. The existing customers can migrate to 3G and use all features with the present 2G SIM itself. However, if the customer wants USIM for higher capabilities and new features, the same will be given on charge of Rs.59.
There are more than 2.5 lakh mobile customers for BSNL in the city. According to the General Manger, the existing 2G prepaid customers can migrate to 3G, general 120 plan by sending SMS ‘M3G120’ to 53733 free of cost. Now post-paid customers can opt for 3G services along with 2G plans at the time of applying itself. The customers should have a 3G compatible mobile handset for utilizing all the features of the 3G service. He said interested persons can call 1991 or 2787841 for further information.
