200 tourist destinations from four districts highlighted

With a view to showcasing the tourist potential in four districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari to the global tourists, the Air Travelers Association (India) in association with Visakhapatnam Port Trust, GVMC and VUDA is conducting the 'Regional Summit on Tourism' from February 13 to 15. This was disclosed by the Chairman of Port Trust, Ajeya Kallam, Commissioner of GVMC, VN Vishnu and president of ATA(India) D Varada Reddy at a press conference on Friday.
Ajeya Kallam referred to the immense tourist potential in the four districts and said the proposed expos on industries, health, education and Mega Carnival would be special attractions. Ideal locations were selected for these proposals, he said. While the carnival would be held at RK Beach, the Travel Mart and Industrial and Health expos would be organized by YMCA beach road. He said that nearly 200 tourist destinations these four districts and the main focus would be to attract international tourist said Vishnu. According to him, provision of quality accommodation to international tourists, air connectivity, guides who could communicate in English and Hindi would be ensured.
Varada Reddy said there are 33 Buddhists sites in the region and this would be of special interest to international tourists. Eight major events were planned for focusing the importance of this region in terms of tourism importance, he said.
