World Peace Fest organized at RK Beach by J Creations. 1,111 white balloons and 11 pigeons were released for world peace.

The World Peace Fest was organized by J Creations at the Ramakrishna Beach on Friday which coincided with the date 11-11-11. Hundreds of schoolchildren took part in the fest. 1,111 white balloons and 11 pigeons were released for world peace at exactly 11:11 am on the occasion.
Minister for Tribal Welfare P Balaraju participated in the World Peace Fest. Speaking on the occasion, he spoke about the importance of world peace at a time it was war torn. It was on November 11 that the World War I had ended in 1918 paving way for world peace. District Collector Lav Agarwal, GVMC Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu and Visakhapatnam West MLA Malla Vijay Prasad also participated in the event. Agarwal said that we should uphold Indian traditions and culture along with striving for world peace. Managing Director of J Creations Sharmila Devi also spoke on the occasion.
Vizagites have held peace rallies several times in the past. In April 2007, a peace rally was held by the Seerath Committee of Milad-un-Nabi for peace from all walks of life transcending religious barriers. The World Peace Day was also observed in 2006 by Prajapita Brahmakumaris Eswariya Viswavidylaya stressing the importance of spirituality.
