Vizag to get a permanent Art Gallery soon

Union HRD Minister D Purandeswari and District Collector Lav Agarwal promises to extend support to help Visakhapatnam get an art gallery soon.

The city would soon get a permanent art gallery. Union Minister of Human Resource Development Daggubati Purandeswari and District Collector Lav Agarwal said that they would extend all the support for establishing a permanent art gallery in Visakhapatnam. They participated on the inaugural day of the two-day photo exhibition at CMR Central.

Speaking on the occasion, Purandeswari said that Visakhapatnam is a beautiful city and has a bright scope to emerge as a major tourist hub. She stressed the importance of developing he city which is gaining popularity as the biggest city in Asia. Purandeswari added that the city which has picturesque beaches and hillocks will attract domestic and international tourists on a large scale in the future. Responding to a suggestion by senior photographer B.K. Agarwal, Purandeswari also said that an art gallery in the city would help organize photo exhibitions at regular intervals. The areas which lack development in the city would be focused and all amenities would be provided in such areas, she said. The exhibition also showcased the photos taken by children which attracted the minister.

District Collector Lav Agarwal said that those who visit Vizag will sure fell in love with its beauty. He asked the organizers of the photo exhibition to showcase photos of the city at the Visakha Utsav in December. The exhibition showcased 454 photos taken by 74 photographers in the city. Prizes were awarded to the top three photographers - KR Deepak, C Kishan Chandu and C V Subramanyam.

Symbiosys Technologies CEO Naresh Kumar, CMR Central Managing Director MV Ramana, Visakha Camera Club chairman BK Agarwal, AU Journalism professor Babivardan, former Mayor DV Subba Rao and city youth congress president Murthi Yadav and others were present.
