Vizag celebrates 88th birthday of Akkineni Nageswara Rao

Legendary Telugu Film Actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao was felicitated on his 88th birthday at a special program held at the Kala Bharati Auditorium. Various dignitaries who participated in the program have shared their views and experiences with Nageswara Rao and about the how simple and modest lifestyle the thespian has.
Speaking on the occasion, GITAM University President MVVS Murthi said that the veteran actor has won the hearts of telugu people for over 6 decades. Despite not being an educationalist, Nageswara Rao indirectly helped for the development of art and education.
State Hindi Academy Chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said that Nageswara Rao acted only in films but he is an outspoken man in real life.
S Vijay Kumar of Vijay Nirman, Former Rector of Andhra University A Prasanna Kumar, critic Peri Ravi Kumar and other prominent personalities of the city are present on the occasion.
Nageswara Rao was born on September 20, 2011 at Rampuram in Gudiwada, Krishna district. His film career started with Dharmapatni in 1941 and spanned over 69 years during which he acted in 256 telugu films and 26 tamil films.
