Four junior doctors begins indefinite hunger strike as part of the statewide agitations.
- Four junior doctors from the city - Kalyan, Jeeveswara Rao, Durga Prasad and Phani have begun their indefinite hunger strike called by the AP Junior Doctors Association as part of the Statewide agitations. The association is seeking a firm assurance from the State government on regular payment of their stipend and their other demands.
- The Oil Conservation Fortnight celebrations by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited concludes.
- The last date for admission into the certificate course in yoga organized by the Department of Yoga and Consciousness, Andhra University has been extended to February 4, 2012.
- Registrar in-charge of Andhra University K Samrajyalakshmi releases a poster on the rights of girl child. The poster is brought out by Visakha Forum for Child Rights.
- The Lions Cancer Hospital will hold a 3-day cancer detection camp from tomorrow onwards. Those who have suspicions of suffering from cancer can get a checkup from 9am to 5pm for the next three days.
- Mayor of GVMC Pulusu Janardhana Rao directed the officials to make arrangements for installing the Bhagat Singh statue on the Beach road on February 12. The standing committee of GVMC also approved a proposal for appointing a senior advocate and two junior advocates.
- Praja Spandana president CS Rao said that the formation of a separate railway zone is a political decision and there is no point in meeting the railway officials in this regard.
