Temple Priests stage dharna

Temple priests from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam stage dharna at Turner's Choultry. They demand the payment of salaries as per the order of the Dharmika Parishad.

Temple Priests from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts staged a dharna in front of the Turner's Choultry demanding payment of salaries as per the order of the Dharmika Parishad. The Priests criticized the officials for not implementing orders issued by the endowments commissioner. They also demanded that there is rampant corruption in the Endowments department and that ACB should take a serious look at this.

The Priests from the three districts protested under the banner of Visakhapatnam District Archaka Sangham and is led by Sangham president Rejeti Adiseshu, general secretary Ayaluri Srinivasu Deekshitulu and secretary Kothalanka Muralikrishna. Speaking to the media, they said that the priests is private temples should be paid salary according to the Labour department rules.

The priests warned that agitation would be intensified in phases if their problems were not resolved by September 20.
