Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy remarked that resignations won't fetch anything. Members of the Samaikhyandhra Students JAC have protested in front of the Government guest house in Visakhapatnam where Raghuveera Reddy is staying.
Raghuveera Reddy tried to pacify the students saying that the resignations would not help achieve the goal of Samaikhyandhra. He said that byelections would come if the Ministers and MLAs resign. He said that the Government would have to take the suggestions of the political parties in the state for a separate Rayalaseema state in case Telangana gets separated.
Meanwhile, the JAC students have also gheraoed PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana. They threatened that they would seize ministers' residences if they won't show their support to United Andhra within 24 hours.
The Samaikhyandhra Students JAC has earlier called on the public representatives in the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to tender their resignations to showcase the demand of keeping the state united.
