Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao launches plantation drive as part of Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu's plan to divide roads into three categories to take up repairs and beautify the roads

Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao launched the plantation drive aimed at improving and beautifying roads. More than 500 saplings will be planted on the roads near Vemana Mandiram, Siripuram, HSBC, Apollo Hospital, Rednam Gardens, Old Jail Road, LIC and near GVMC. The plantation drive is part of GVMC Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu's direction to take steps to improve the roads. The roads will be divided into three categories in all the zones and steps to repair, re-laying, improving footpaths, plating saplings and laying cables through ducts will be taken.
Ramanjaneyulu said that steps would be taken to make sure the saplings grew well. Staff from the horticulture wing will be allotted to every zone to water the plants and to trim them.
