India-West Indies One Day a big success

The Second One day between India and West Indies at the ACA-VDCA stadium is a big success. Several personalities attended the match along with their families.

The Second One Day International between India and West Indies enthralled the fans at the ACA-VDCA stadium. Host Visakhapatnam proved to a lucky ground again for India as they beat West Indies by 5 wickets. Virat Kohli who scored a brilliant century against Australia at the same ground last year, continued to enthrall the fans by scoring yet another century today. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, whose maternal grand mother is from Visakhapatnam remained unbeaten with 90 odd runs. In the end, it's all smiles for the spectators who thronged to the ground hoping to see their favorite players.

Winning the toss, West Indies chose to bat first. But the decision back fired as they went down to 149/8 at one stage and 170/9 at the other. However, a record last wicket unbeaten partnership of 99 runs help West Indies score a respectable total of 269/9 in their fifty overs. Ravi Rampaul scored a record unbeaten 86*(66) at No. 10 position. In reply, Virat Kohli 117(123) and Rohit Sharma 90*(98) steered India to victory.

A number of high profile personalities were spotted among the spectators. Sowmya Mishra, VUDA Vice-Chairman Kona Sasidhar, District Collector Lav Agarwal were seen sporting tri-color face paints. GVMC Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu watched the match along with his family while Vijayanagaram SP also watched the match.
